Biden facing significant backlash for supporting aid for Israel

Fox News reports that President Joe Biden is currently facing a significant backlash for coming out in favor of more U.S. aid for Israel, as the Israelis continue to fight against their Middle Eastern enemies.

This is shaping up to be a massive problem for Biden as the 2024 election draws nearer. To understand why, please read on.

What's going on:

Fox's report comes after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a foreign aid package that includes about $26 billion for Israel. The money will help Israel to continue to defend itself as it faces off against Hamas and Iran.

The bill has yet to make it to Biden's desk, but it is expected to, and the president has already indicated that he plans to sign it.

This, according to Fox, has really irritated the United States Muslim community, which has already not been displeased with the Biden administration for its support of Israel.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has put out a statement, saying:

That heartless decision could mark the point of no return for what remains of the White House’s relationship with the American Muslim community and other Americans opposed to the genocide in Gaza. The administration is already at its lowest point in its relationship with the American Muslim community.

Other pro-Muslim Americans have released similar statements.

Here's the problem:

If you have been following this issue, then you will likely know that, in recent weeks, Biden, out of nowhere, decided to stop supporting Israel and to instead support Palestine. Biden, in fact, even told the Israel prime minister to agree to a ceasefire.

Biden switched to supporting the Palestinians after numerous polls came out showing that Biden is in jeopardy of losing the votes of pro-Palestinian Democrats in the upcoming election.

This is a huge deal. It turns out that some of the largest of these pro-Palestinian American populations reside in key swing states, such as Michigan, meaning that their vote could have a huge impact on the upcoming election.

To put it simply, if Biden does not manage to get their votes, he could lose the election. This is why Biden has been flip-flopping on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Biden goes all in

Not only did Biden indicate that he will support further aid for Israel, but the White House, over the weekend condemned the pro-Palestine "protests" that have been going on at such places as Columbia University.

The White House, in fact, went so far as to call the protests "blatantly antisemitic."

One could only suspect that this is going to further irritate pro-Palestinian Americans and further jeopardize Biden's election chances.
