Biden fumbles with Halloween candy, whispers into child's ear

Joe Biden had some difficulty handing out candy to children during a Halloween celebration at the White House that showcased the president's odd behavior.

The aging president's hands appeared to shake while he was observing the whimsical tradition of trick-or-treating on the South Lawn.

Biden dropped some candy that he was handing out to a little boy - kneeling down moments later to pick it up.

Biden's Halloween

"Doctor" Jill Biden passed on a stethoscope this year and dressed up as her cat Willow.

A former teacher, Jill read a spooky story to the kids while surrounded by large cutout decorations, including a depiction of the Bidens' dog Commander, known for his voracious bite.

Jill's husband did not dress up, although some might say no costume was needed to create an effect.

The president showcased his notoriously creepy behavior, at one point leaning over to whisper into a little boy's ear and then kissing him on the cheek.

The children received more than treats from the president, who was spotted coughing directly into his hands as scary music played.

Stranger than fiction.....

Thousands attended the event, mostly schoolchildren from the local area.

Biden tried to amuse the youngsters by pulling faces and even pretended to eat a child's toy ice cream cone, ice cream being Biden's favorite treat.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised eyebrows, too, by dressing up his son as Ukrainian leader Volodomyr Zelensky, whose incessant appeals for tax money Biden has readily answered much as if he were handing out Hershey bars.

As the leader of the free world, Biden faces challenges much greater than interacting with schoolchildren in costume.

But with a gait like Boris Karloff in Frankenstein, and speech that is hardly more intelligible than the famous monster, Biden is widely seen as too old for his rigorous job.

His constant fumbling has damaged public confidence in his leadership, although it has not stopped his party from rallying, zombie-like, behind his re-election bid.
