The recently released audio of former President Joe Biden speaking with special counsel Robert Hur is raising a lot of questions. 

The tapes were first reported on by Axios. At the time of this writing, it is not exactly clear how they got out. It would appear that they might have been leaked.

They date back to October 2023, when Hur interviewed Biden as part of his investigation into allegations that Biden may have broken the law by mishandling classified documents for decades.

Hur actually came to the conclusion that there is something to these allegations, but he infamously refused to prosecute Biden because, in his view, a jury would not find Biden guilty because he is "a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

Some highlights

The audio raises significant concerns about Biden's mental health, as he really appeared to struggle to get through the interview, forgetting all kinds of things.

"The audio recording reveals that Biden had difficulty remembering when his late son, Beau Biden, died and when now-President Donald Trump was elected during his first term in office, among other things," Breitbart News reports.

For example:

“So, during this time when you were living at Chain Bridge Road and there were documents relating to the Penn Biden Center or the Biden Institute, or the Cancer Moonshot, or your book, where did you keep papers that related to those things that you were actively working?” Hur can be heard asking Biden. “Well…. I, I, I, I, I, I don’t know. This is what — 2017, 2018, that area?” Biden asked. “Yes, sir,” Hur said. “Remember, in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying."

Beau Biden actually died in 2015.

Also interesting is the fact that Biden claimed that he was holding on to the classified material, that he did not have the right to hold on to - for "posterity."

Trump weighs in

President Donald Trump took the opportunity on Saturday to weigh in on the situation.

He decided to once again call attention to the "autopen" situation.

It has been reported that the Biden administration used autopen a lot, and the claim is that it did so because Biden was not really the one who was signing off on things.

Trump, in part, wrote, "Whoever had control of the “AUTOPEN” is looking to be a bigger and bigger scandal by the moment."

The president continued:

It is a major part of the real crime, THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2020 WAS RIGGED AND STOLEN! Millions and millions of people knew that, but the Radical Left Democrats waged a campaign of inoculation and innocence like none that had ever been waged before. THIS IS WHY THE UNSELECT COMMITTEE OF POLITICAL THUGS, WHO WERE GIVEN A FULL AND COMPLETE PARDON BY THE PERSON WHO WIELDED THE NOW ILLEGALLY USED AUTOPEN, DELETED AND DESTROYED ALL EVIDENCE AND INFORMATION FROM THEIR CORRUPT AND VICIOUS WITCH HUNT AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE, WHOSE LIVES WERE COMPLETELY SHATTERED AND DESTROYED BY THIS HISTORICALLY CRIMINAL EVENT.
