Biden: 'I have no contemplation of pardoning myself for anything'
Even some of his fellow Democrats were outraged late last year when President Joe Biden gave a blanket pardon to his son Hunter Biden despite repeatedly saying he would not do so.
Given those facts, some may have trouble believing Biden's announcement this past week that he will not pardon himself.
Biden says he has "no contemplation of pardoning myself for anything"
According to Breitbart, Biden's remarks came when a reporter asked on Friday, "Have you ruled out a pardon for yourself or any other additional members of the family?"
Biden says that he will not pardon himself before he leaves office.

The president appeared to be puzzled by the journalist's question, responding, "For myself? What would I pardon myself for?"
"No, I have no contemplation of pardoning myself for anything," Biden later insisted before adding that he "didn’t do anything wrong."
Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson "would accept" a pardon if Biden offered
While it remains to be seen whether Biden will grant himself a pardon, some high-profile Democrats have expressed interest in receiving one before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office.
One of them is Mississippi Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson, who previously served as chair of the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack.
The Hill pointed out last month that Thompson told CNN host Jim Acosta he "would accept" a preemptive pardon should one be offered.
"The president, it's his prerogative," Thompson said of Biden's power to issue pardons. "If he offers it, to me or other members of the committee, I think it, I would accept it, but it’s his choice."
Biden recently told USA Today that he is considering pardon's for a number of figures, including former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci, both of whom could find themselves under criminal investigation.
Sources say Biden is upset over Democrats'' reaction to his pardoning of son
Meanwhile, a December New York Times article cited multiple unnamed sources as saying that Biden is "moody" and "angry" over how some Democrats reacted to his pardoning of Hunter.
The critics included left-leaning legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who voiced condemnation in a guest column he wrote for the Times.
"With the pardon of his son, Mr. Biden added his name to the roll call of presidents who dishonored their office by misusing the pardon power," Toobin asserted.
