Black Lives Matter comes out in support of Hamas

Three years ago, Joe Biden campaigned for president as an ally of Black Lives Matter. In the wake of the brutal attacks in Israel, BLM is taking the side of Hamas.

Black Lives Matter Grassroots published a statement describing Hamas' raping and pillaging as acts of "self-defense" against "apartheid."

"When a people have been subject to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense," the group wrote.

The statement connected Palestine's struggle for "liberation" to a worldwide fight against "colonialism" and oppression - linking Palestinians with black people in America facing "mass incarceration."

"As Black people continue the fight to end militarism and mass incarcerations in our own communities, let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world’s biggest open air prison," it continued.

Israel has laid siege to the blockaded Gaza Strip and pledged to destroy "animals" in Hamas, who murdered over 1,000 Israelis and kidnapped more than 100 during last weekend's assault near the Gaza-Israel border.

Rift on the left

Dueling demonstrations in favor of Israel and Palestine have cropped up in cities across America and the wider Western world, as the conflict drives a rift between centrist Democrats and radicals within academia and groups like Black Lives Matter, who support armed Palestinian "liberation."

A group of students at Harvard is facing corporate blacklisting after they signed a statement holding Israel "entirely responsible" for the violence.

Most elected Democrats have sided with Israel, with Biden condemning Hamas as "sheer evil."

His press secretary even blasted a vocal fringe of Democrats in the "Squad" for "repugnant" comments that responded to the Hamas violence with equivocation.

The Chicago chapter of BLM shared a post, since deleted, glorifying the Hamas fighters who used paragliders to slaughter and kidnap festival goers in the desert.

Of course, this isn't exactly shocking for those who remember BLM's "mostly peaceful" summer of rage three years ago. This has always been a violent, radical group - when will Biden condemn them?
