U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel are expected to testify before Congress about the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The Washington Examiner reports that both individuals are set to appear before Congress in roughly the next month.

This comes after Bondi, Patel, and other members of the administration of President Donald Trump received significant criticism for their handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Bondi and Patel will testify

The Examiner reports that Bondi is expected to testify in September, while Patel will testify in October, in relation to the Epstein case.

Per the outlet:

Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel will testify before the House Judiciary Committee in the fall. Bondi is expected to testify on Oct. 9, and Patel will appear before the committee on Sept. 17 as part of the committee’s general oversight over the Justice Department, the Washington Examiner confirmed.

Patel and Bondi are testifying at the request of Congress members, who want to get to the bottom of the Epstein situation.

Politico reports:

Both have been invited as part of the Judiciary Committee’s general oversight work, and each will have an opportunity to outline some of the pieces of a crime bill President Donald Trump wants Hill Republicans to produce in the coming months.

The big question, of course, is whether the American public will actually get any new information about the situation from Bondi and Patel.

Background

The Examiner explains how it is that the Trump administration has landed itself in this position.

The outlet reports:

The testimonies come as the Trump administration is under scrutiny for its handling of the files related to the since-deceased and disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. The Justice Department has delivered its first batch of files to the Oversight Committee, but conservatives in President Donald Trump’s MAGA base, as well as a sizable bipartisan group of lawmakers on Capitol Hill, are insisting that all the files be made public.

This comes after Bondi recently released a memo stating that there is no Epstein client list. This came as a surprise to many, considering that Bondi herself claimed that such a list existed.

The Trump administration is still trying to recover from this situation. There is no doubt that it is hoping that Bondi and Patel's testimony will help.

It seems unlikely, though, until Trump decides to release all Epstein files.
