An illegal immigrant from Brazil who is wanted for murder spent nearly two years in the United States under the auspices of Joe Biden.

39-year-old Luiz Fernando Moreira de Assuncao Oliveira was finally deported in June for overstaying his visa. The killer was admitted into the country in July of 2021 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He was finally arrested in April in Quincy, Massachusetts, and removed in June to his native Brazil.

Brazilian murderer deported

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) press release touting his removal neglects to mention the gritty details: Moreira was convicted for beating his mother to death, and then hiding the body.

He was sentenced to 19 years and 10 months in Brazil for his crimes, which remained apparently unknown to the Biden administration until this year.

Agents in Boston learned of his fugitive status in February from an ICE attaché in Brazil.

"This is another great example of teamwork and dedication of the ERO Boston team,” said Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston Field Office Director Todd Lyons.

“Because of their professionalism and hard work, this dangerous convicted killer is now off our streets and can no longer pose any threat to our safety. He will now be held accountable for his crimes in his country because of the outstanding teamwork of ERO Boston officers.”

Failure of duty

The Biden regime apparently thinks it's a victory that a wanted murderer was roaming free for nearly two years before finally being removed.

The left will no doubt champion his belated deportation as some kind of success story proving that Biden is "tough on the border." But he never should have been in the U.S. in the first place - and he wouldn't have been if the government had done its due diligence to protect the American people.

The amazing part is that this monster didn't enter illegally - for at least part of his stay, he was living in the U.S. with a visa he received from the Biden administration. How many more killers, just like him, are being admitted into the country without proper vetting?

A different Brazilian fugitive, also wanted for murder, was arrested in the Boston area in February nearly two years after the Biden administration released him into the country's interior with a "notice to appear."

Under Biden, the safety and sovereignty of the American people have become an afterthought.
