Broadway star Patti LuiPone suggests 'Trumpified' Kennedy Center 'should get blown up'
If you had any doubts that Hollywood celebs were still stricken with severe Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), doubt no more.
According to Breitbart, this week's latest celebrity elitist, Broadway veteran and Disney’s "Agatha All Along" star Patti LuPone made especially egregious remarks about the "Trumpified" Kennedy Center and how she believes it "should get blow up."
LuPone made the disgusting remarks during a recent interview with The New Yorker.
She reportedly made the remark about the Kennedy Center being blown up "more than once," according to the report.
What happened?
Many celebs threw hissy fits when President Trump became the chairman of the Kennedy Center after former Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter was fired.
After her firing, "former ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell was named interim president while Trump replaced outgoing chair David Rubenstein," the reports noted.
The massive shakeup caused a number of celebrities to cut ties with the Kennedy Center and express their anger at the president and his administration.
Breitbart noted:
As a result of the shakeup, several stars, including superstar soprano Renée Fleming, announced they would be cutting ties with the Kennedy Center. This was followed by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and lead producer Jeffrey Seller telling the New York Times that they would be canceling a scheduled production of the hit musical.
Earlier this year, President Trump pledged to end drag shows at the Kennedy Center, which definitely upset the drag-friendly left.
"Just last year, the Kennedy Center featured Drag Shows specifically targeting our youth — THIS WILL STOP,” Trump wrote at the time. "The Kennedy Center is an American Jewel, and must reflect the brightest STARS on its stage from all across our Nation. For the Kennedy Center, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!"
Other detractors
Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the Broadway hit "Hamilton," wasn't thrilled with Trump's vision of the Kennedy Center.
"This latest action by Trump means it’s not the Kennedy Center as we knew it,” Lin-Manuel Miranda said.
He added, “The Kennedy Center was not created in this spirit, and we’re not going to be a part of it while it is the Trump Kennedy Center. We’re just not going to be part of it."
It's doubtful that President Trump is losing any sleep over it, though.
