California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to use social media to level criticism at President Donald Trump and his administration. 

This time, according to Axios, Newsom targeted Trump over the ongoing redistricting battle that is taking place nationwide.

Trump, at the time of this writing, has chosen thus far to ignore Newsom, which is probably not a bad strategy because, as we will see, Newsom is clearly trying to draw attention to himself.

Trump’s election rigging comes to an end now. California won’t stand by and watch Trump burn it all down — we are calling a special election to redraw our Congressional maps and defend fair representation.

Newsom steals Trump's...

As mentioned, Newsom is using social media to target Trump, and, what's more, is that Newsom is doing so using Trump's own social media style.

Here's one recent example:

They do say that imitation is a form of flattery, but that's clearly not what Newsom was going for.

Newsom claims that he "just following [Trump's] example."

"If you have issues with what I'm putting out, you sure as hell should have concerns with what he's putting out as president," he said.

Background

This all comes amid the redistricting battle that is taking place across the country.

One example is down in Texas, where Democratic lawmakers fled the state in order to block a redistricting bill that they claim is Republican-led gerrymandering.

Democrats, though, have done their fair share of gerrymandering. A case in point would be Illinois. California is now following suit.

In a separate message, Newsom wrote:

Trump, for his part, has yet to engage with Newsom on the subject.
