California experiences fastest population decrease in America: Report

It's no surprise that Vice President Kamala Harris' home state of California has changed from one of the most desirable states to the most desirable state from which to flee.

According to Newsweek, even though it's still the most populous state, that might soon not be the case as it's also currently ranked one of the fastest shrinking (in population) state in America.

It should also come as no surprise that the state that takes the top spot on the list of states with the fastest decline in population is Democrat-led New York, California is close behind.

Specifically, California's coastal cities and communities have seen the largest drop in population, while some other parts of the state have seen minor increases over past years.

What's going on?

Notably, the state did see a small increase in population last year, but if one looks at the trend starting at 2019 and beyond, it's easy to see that people are fleeing the state as fast as they possibly can.

Newsweek noted:

While California did see a small increase in its population last year, the overall trend since 2019 has been that of gradual decline, decreasing from 39.53 million in 2020 to 38.97 million in 2023, as per the U.S. Census Bureau.

Not surprisingly, when asked why people are leaving California, a large chunk of those fleeing have blamed housing costs, which have risen significantly under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

That's not to mention the cost of living, including eating, buying groceries, paying utility bills, car payments and everything else that has risen in cost over the course of the Biden-Harris administration.

Others say they've left due to political reasons, which is also not surprising given that California is a nightmare of progressive, radical and ridiculous policies and laws. And people are sick of it.

Newsweek added:

Statewide, about a third of Californians say they are considering leaving the state due to housing costs, according to surveys by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC.) This is likely to be partly due to the "new normal" of remote work in many higher income professions, but many have also stated politics as a reason for leaving the state.

Where are they going?

Interestingly -- but not shocking -- is that Californians fleeing the progressive cess pit are headed to red states, specifically Texas.

It's understandable that people would want to actually experience their freedoms and live life to the fullest in a state like Texas or other red states.

Overall, it's truly a shame that California was ruined by Democrats, as it was once an exciting and absolutely gorgeous place to be. Those days are gone now.
