Cancer survivor and honorary Secret Service agent DJ Daniel has three new tumors
Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel made headlines earlier this year when President Donald Trump appointed him as an honorary Secret Service agent.
Yet according to the New York Post, the 13-year-old cancer survivor recently received a crushing diagnosis.
Doctors say DJ has three new tumors
Theodis Daniel is DJ's father, and he was quoted as telling Fox 7 Austin last week that his son has developed three additional brain tumors.
"It’s rough, there isn’t a class that can teach you how to deal with it. You’re hearing that your child has a nasty disease," the elder Daniel lamented.
"We're just going around showing people, hey, you do care for one another. Let’s give compassion and let’s try to join and help each other get through things," he added.
The Post noted that DJ has received words of support from law enforcement officials, including Deputy Jeffrey Combs of Texas' Williams County Sheriff’s.
"I saw Theodis pick his son up. I felt that unconditional love, and I just knew I had to find DJ," the lawman explained to Fox 7 Austin.
Honorary agent spoke to new Secret Service graduates
A press release put out by the Secret Service noted how shortly after being made an honorary agent, DJ was present to congratulate the graduates of Special Agent Training Class 445 at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Beltsville, Maryland.

The press release recalled how DJ, who aspired to be a police officer, has undergone over a dozen surgeries since first being diagnosed with brain and spinal cancer in 2018.
During his visit he toured the facility and rode in the passenger seat as a Secret Service agent practiced fast-paced driving maneuvers.
DJ: "I'll keep going until my gas tank runs out"
The Post further observed that DJ was recently made a deputy of Florida's Polk County Sheriff's Office by Sheriff Grady Judd.
"I'll keep going until my gas tank runs out and that’s when God calls you home," JD said at the event. "The craziest thing is on my 11th brain surgery, God told me I was one of his angels and I’m doing God’s work."
"On my 12th brain surgery, he gave me my wings, but he told me I’m going to take these back until you graduate the school called life," he added.
