Chicago sees 13 people shot in wave of deadly weekend violence
President Donald Trump has repeatedly complained of Chicago's violent crime problem and insisted that federal intervention is needed to address it.
While Democrats have denounced Trump's position, a spree of shootings in the Windy City this past weekend appears to have proven him right.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signs executive order establishing "ICE-free zones"
Rather than focus on the violence which is plaguing his city's streets, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson instead moved to sign an executive order on Monday which establishes so-called "ICE-free zones."
Mediaite reported that the order prohibits ICE agents from making use of any "city-owned or controlled parking lots, vacant lots, and garages as staging areas, processing locations, or operations bases."
"We have a rogue, reckless group of heavily armed, masked individuals roaming throughout our city that are not accountable to the people of Chicago," Johnson was quoted as telling reporters at a press conference.
The Democratic politician then went on to warn the president that "[i]f Congress won’t check this administration, then Chicago will."
