Chinese national arrested for trespassing at Mar-a-Lago resort
Given the two attempts on his life, many supporters of Donald Trump have expressed concern for the president-elect's physical safety.
Those fears were heightened once again late last week when an intruder was arrested at Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort.
Chinese man is facing two misdemeanor charges of trespassing
According to the Daily Wire, law enforcement officers took 39-year-old Chinese national Zijie Li into custody for trespassing on Thursday.
The website pointed out that Li is the subject of a court order which requires him to stay away from Mar-A-Lago following a previous trespassing incident.
Li, who now faces two misdemeanor charges of trespassing, resides in the Los Angeles area on a student visa and was recently discharged from a mental health facility.
His arrest came just one day after the Department of Justice announced (DOJ) charges against three individuals in connection with a plot to assassinate Trump.

"There are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the national security of the United States as does Iran," the Daily Caller quoted Attorney General Merrick Garland as saying in a statement put out on Friday.
"The Justice Department has charged an asset of the Iranian regime who was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump," he continued.
Alleged plotter tied to Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps
"We have also charged and arrested two individuals who we allege were recruited as part of that network to silence and kill, on U.S. soil, an American journalist who has been a prominent critic of the regime," Garland explained.
"We will not stand for the Iranian regime's attempts to endanger the American people and America’s national security," the attorney general went on to pledge.
As part of its indictment, the DOJ characterized Shakeri as being an asset of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The U.S. State Department has included the IRGC on its list of designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) since April of 2019.
