While Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz has spoken of his time spent teaching English in China, a new report suggests that he also had other interests there.

According to the Daily Mail, the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official has come forward to say that she and Walz had an extended love affair in 1989.

"I can still remember dancing with him to our favorite song"

"Tim was very passionate and very romantic," 59-year-old Jenna Wang was quoted as saying during an interview with the newspaper. "I can still remember dancing with him to our favorite song."

"The fact we couldn't touch or kiss in public just made it all the more exciting and intense when we were finally alone," Wang recalled.

"Tim was very handsome. I loved his eyes and his big mouth. We talked afterwards and he was very complimentary about my English," she explained.

"My colleagues couldn't speak whole sentences but Tim told me that if he closed his eyes and listened it was like being back in America," Wang continued.

Wang says she was put off by Walz' odd conduct

"He couldn't sing and when he tried to dance he found it very hard. I could tell he was in the military," the Chinese woman noted. "But we talked for hours and hours, we stayed in bed, we had sex. He continued to buy me gifts."

Wang added that she "could never stay overnight because of the social conventions" which were "very repressive." The woman further pointed out how her "father would have been very, very angry and sad if he had found out."

However, Wang was put off by some of Walz' behavior, such as when he attempted to feed her a slice of pear, saying, "People were staring at us. I tried to reject it because I was very afraid. Teachers were supposed to set an example."

Wang alleged that the relationship came to an end when Walz began to suspect that she wanted to marry him in order to obtain American citizenship, something she called "was very offensive."

"I wasn't giving up my life and my position to move to Nebraska, a cold place in the middle of nowhere that most Chinese people had never heard of," Wang declared.

"I was giving it up to be with Tim, to get married and start a family. Knowing now that he wasn't going to marry me made me feel cheap and common, as if I was being treated like a prostitute," she complained.

"We were deeply in love and I wanted to marry him and start a family. When it didn't happen, I felt very unhappy and sad. Tim's behavior was very selfish," Wang concluded.
