Hillary Clinton's 'Onward Together' exposed for supporting extreme climate change activism

Over the past few years, climate change activist groups have employed increasingly disruptive and extreme modes of protest to raise awareness and promote their goal of ending the production of and societal reliance upon so-called fossil fuel-derived energy, such as oil and gas.

It has now been revealed that one of the biggest charity organizations that finances many of those activist groups, the Climate Emergency Fund, has received at least half a million dollars over the past couple of years from a progressive organization co-founded by failed 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the Washington Examiner reported.

The Clinton-co-founded organization, Onward Together, claims that it "is committed to lifting up emerging organizations and leaders who are fighting for our shared progressive values and defending our democracy. We support groups that are mobilizing voters, defending voting rights, and recruiting candidates for office to help safeguard our democracy for generations to come."

At least $500,000 in two years for climate change activism

The Examiner reported that, according to its 2024 tax records, Onward Together granted a total of $200,000 to the Climate Emergency Fund between April 2022 and March 2023.

That followed disbursements totaling $300,000 from Clinton's progressive organization to the climate change activism financing group during the prior fiscal year, bringing the two-year total to at least $500,000.

The Climate Emergency Fund has boasted of its financial backing of more than two dozen climate activism groups, including Climate Defiance, Extinction Rebellion and its local chapters, and an umbrella organization known as the A22 Network, which in turn financially supports roughly a dozen other climate activist groups, including Just Stop Oil and Declare Emergency.

Activists with those groups and their affiliates and offshoots have grabbed countless headlines over the past few years with increasingly disruptive and extreme forms of protest, including vandalizing priceless works of art, blocking major traffic thoroughfares, disrupting significant events like sports competitions and awards shows, and gluing themselves to objects like vehicles and roadways.

CEF an "ATM" for "radical environmental activists"

To be sure, Clinton's Onward Together is not alone in financially backing the Climate Emergency Fund, as the Examiner reported exactly one year earlier about how numerous Hollywood celebrities, left-leaning philanthropists, and leftist advocacy organizations were "quietly bankrolling" the Climate Emergency Fund with millions of dollars in donations and grants.

Indeed, the CEF leadership team, including its board of directors and advisory board, is comprised of several Hollywood stars and wealthy philanthropists.

The executive director of a conservative watchdog group known as Americans for Public Trust, Caitlin Sutherland, told the Examiner at that time, "Climate Emergency Fund has quickly become the ATM that radical environmental activists turn to fund their latest disruptions."

"And as their destruction increases, so should the scrutiny on who is bankrolling the Climate Emergency Fund and their ties to more mainstream environmental groups that might disagree with these over-the-top and dangerous tactics," she added.

Call for congressional scrutiny

Of course, Clinton's Onward Together organization isn't only funding climate change activism, as it is partnered with and supports with financing and training more than two dozen other progressive activist and advocacy groups that are focused on issues like abortion rights, racial and social justice, and mobilizing voters to support Democratic politicians, among other things.

As for its financing of climate activism extremists, the executive director and founder of the pro-energy advocacy group Power the Future, Daniel Turner, told the Examiner, "Anyone who cares about public safety and preventing vandalism should be deeply concerned that money connected to Hillary Clinton is propping up these radicalized eco-activists."

"Congress would be wise to immediately investigate the shady origins and dastardly flow of this tainted Clinton cash," he added.
