Clintons' subpoenas in Epstein probe pushed back
The depositions of both former Secretary of State Hillary and Former President Bill Clinton in the congressional probe of late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein have been pushed back to accommodate their schedules, according to a spokesperson for the House Oversight Committee.
Hillary Clinton was scheduled to testify before the committee last week on October 9, and Bill Clinton was scheduled to appear on Tuesday, but neither one did.
The spokesperson told the New York Post on Monday that the committee was “having conversations with the Clintons’ attorney to accommodate their schedules.”
“The deposition won’t occur tomorrow,” the spokesperson said of Bill's scheduled testimony.
"Everybody in America wants to know"
Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) subpoenaed the Clintons in August, and said that both the Democrats and Republicans on the committee had voted to do so.
“Everybody in America wants to know what went on in Epstein Island, and we’ve all heard reports that Bill Clinton was a frequent visitor there, so he’s a prime suspect to be deposed by the House Oversight Committee,” Comer said about the subpoena at the time.
Besides Clinton's visits to Epstein's island, Epstein also visited the White House 17 times during Clinton's tenure there.
Epstein also donated $10,000 to the White House Historical Association, according to files kept by Hillary Clinton.
Was Bill involved?
Bill Clinton was known to be a friend to Epstein, and wrote in his 50th birthday book, “It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted so long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible], and still to have your childlike curiosity.”
Some have long suspected that Bill Clinton shared Epstein's predilection for young women, but no proof has ever been made public that he participated in any of Epstein's illicit activities.
When Epstein's house was raided, police found a large painting of Bill Clinton wearing the infamous blue Monica Lewinsky dress that had his DNA on it, proving the two had a sexual relationship while he was in office and married to Hillary.
But the painting only proves that Epstein was fascinated with Clinton, not the other way around.
Bill Clinton has consistently claimed that he never visited Epstein's island, only flew on his plane nicknamed the Lolita Express to conduct business for his Clinton Global Initiative nonprofit. He claims he didn't know Epstein was trafficking minors for sex and that Ghislaine Maxwell was helping him.
“I wish I had never met him,” Clinton wrote about Epstein, adding that traveling on his plane was “not worth the years of questioning afterward.”
