CNN correspondent briefly detained while covering L.A. riots
The Los Angeles anti-ICE riots have been a magnet for media networks around the country -- and the world -- as pro-illegal immigration protesters continue to wreak havoc across the city.
According to Breitbart, CNN experienced a little extra drama while covering the riots this week as one of their correspondents was briefly detained by law enforcement while covering the riots.
The report noted that CNN correspondent Jason Carroll was detained by Los Angeles Police Department officers.
Apparently, Carroll was not allowed to be in the area he was in while he was trying to cover the riots, and police officers were quick to inform him that he would be arrested if he tried to come back to that particular area.
What's going on?
Carroll didn't let the moment go without cashing in on the dramatic effect, returning to the camera after he was detained and making viewers aware of what had just happened.
The report noted:
CNN was covering the protests live when in-studio anchors briefly lost contact with Carroll, who could be seen being led away from the protests by Los Angeles Police Department officers with his hands behind his back. Carroll returned to the mic, informing the anchors: “I am being detained.”
During the ordeal, the camera was rolling and officers could be heard in the background informing Caroll that he wasn't allowed back to that spot.
"We’re letting you go. You can’t come back. If you come back, you will be arrested," the cops can be heard saying.
Jason Carroll was detained as CNN was live, then told to leave and never come back or they would be arrested.

"I was called over, and the officer told me to put my hands behind my back. I said, ‘Am I being arrested?’ and he said, ‘You are being detained."
Social media reacts
Users across social media had plenty of opinions regarding Carroll being detained.
"Staged! How could the guy in cuffs be Jason and then clearly speak into the mic, saying 'I am being detained.' They’re setting up a new narrative to say that Trump is stomping on freedom of press," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "I don't even know why CNN had to be there Everybody knows that they read their leftist scripts and say what they're told."
With any luck, the riots will continue to tone down enough to where we don't have to see this kind of nonsense.
