CNN features Trump-hating medical expert with no experience as a practicing physician
A guest on CNN, who is frequently billed as a doctor and medical expert, recently raised the alarm for that network's viewers about the possible negative health consequences and side effects for President Donald Trump and his recent diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency.
However, a report just revealed that Dr. Chris Pernell is not, and doesn't appear to have ever been, a practicing physician, though she does hold a medical degree, according to Breitbart.
Instead, Pernell's career seems to have been exclusively focused on promoting racial justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion within the healthcare industry. At the same time, she has also been exposed for her deep bias against the president and the white evangelical Christians who support him.
Trump's recent health diagnosis
Last week, the White House shared a memo from the President's Physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, about his findings after an evaluation of President Trump over "mild swelling" in his legs.
The doctor's diagnosis was that Trump has what is known as chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which he described as "a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70."
Notably, the doctor observed that, after running a battery of different tests, he found "no evidence" or "signs" other other, more serious conditions, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), arterial disease, heart failure, renal impairment, or any other "systemic illness."
No real experience as a physician
Yet, in response to that rather "unremarkable diagnosis," according to The Washington Free Beacon, Dr. Pernell appeared on CNN and, while billed as a "preventative medicine physician," proceeded to warn the network's viewers about all of the "potential complications" and worsening health risks the president could suffer from if the condition was not treated sufficiently.
The problem here is that, aside from her residency at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which she completed after obtaining a medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and a master's in public health from Columbia University, there is no record of Pernell ever treating any patients as a practicing physician.
Instead, she is currently employed as a director of the NAACP's Center for Health Equity, and previously worked at a hospital in New Jersey as a "Chief Strategic Integration and Health Equity Officer" -- a role from which she resigned after a failed push to become the CEO, though she later claimed that she was "forced out" because of racism against her.
Further, it is unclear if Pernell ever even treated any patients during her residency at Johns Hopkins, as her record only describes a variety of management-side duties and accomplishments.
A racist Trump-hater
Separate from her apparent lack of any real experience treating patients as a practicing physician, the Free Beacon revealed that Dr. Pernell once worked on the health equity committee of New Jersey's Reparations Council, where she advocated "not only for reparations but also for non-citizen voting, ending deportations, and a new state agency that 'would disproportionately serve to expand homeownership to Black New Jersey families.'"
On top of that, she is also an "apostle" espousing the radical views of a church led by her brother, Timothy Pernell Jr., who has demonized white evangelical Christians as "agents of Satan" and attacked them over their support for President Trump, whom he has accused of being "a pedophile and a rapist and an antichrist."
Pernell is an individual whom CNN would have its viewers believe is a credible and experienced health expert, and whose analysis is legitimate and worth listening to.
But, in reality, she is a decidedly unserious race-obsessed Trump-hater who adds nothing of value to the public conversation about the president's health issues and should be dismissed and ignored.
