Fans of "1923," a spinoff of the popular "Yellowstone" TV series, were shocked to learn of the passing of one of the show's stars.

According to Yahoo News, Cole Brings Plenty, 27, was found dead after he was named as a suspect in a domestic violence case.

It was noted that he's the nephew of "Yellowstone" star Mo Brings Plenty.

Cole was reported missing on April 2, and prior to his body being discovered, police noted he was last seen in a white Ford Explorer.

What's going on?

His "Yellowstone" star uncle had shared a missing poster with his nephew's information on it after his disappearance was officially reported.

Notably, just hours later, "the Lawrence Police Department named Cole as a suspect in an incident that 'involves allegations of domestic violence.'"

Yahoo News noted:

According to the release, police "reports of a female screaming for help, but the suspect fled before officers arrived." After an initial investigation, police identified Brings Plenty as the suspect as "traffic cameras showed him leaving the city immediately after the incident, traveling southbound on 59 Highway."

Local police reported that they had probable cause to arrest the young actor.

"This incident involves allegations of domestic violence, which limits the amount of information we can share to protect the victim," police noted in a press release.

Body discovered

On Friday, his body was discovered in a rural area of Kansas on Friday, according to Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

"Deputies checked the area and discovered a deceased male in a wooded area away from the vehicle," the sheriff's office wrote in the release. "The deceased male has been identified as Cole Brings Plenty, 27."

The outlet noted:

The AWARE Foundation released a statement after Brings Plenty's body was found: "Unfortunately, we have some tragic news to share. Cole Brings Plenty has been found deceased. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again for sharing."

Tributes to the star and his family poured in across social media in the wake of his death announcement.
