House Republicans released fresh evidence that Joe Biden was reimbursed with money that was laundered from China. 

Republican James Comer (Ky.) released a video explaining how the money was funneled through a series of shell companies.

New Biden evidence

He began by pointing to Hunter Biden's now-infamous "shakedown" of Raymond Zhao, an associate of the Chinese company CEFC. Hunter pressured Zhao over text, warning, "I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father."

Within days, a company tied to CEFC wired $5 million to Hudson West III, a joint venture established by Hunter Biden and CEFC associate Gongwen Dong.

Hudson West III sent $400,000 to Owasco P.C., a firm controlled by Hunter Biden, which in turn sent $150,000 to Lion Hall Group, a company owned by Joe Biden's brother James and his wife Sara.

Sara then withdrew $50,000 from Lion Hall Group and stored it in the personal checking account belonging to her and James Biden. Days later, they sent a $40,000 check to Joe Biden labeled "loan repayment."

Nothingburger?

The White House readily dismissed Comer's latest findings as a nothingburger, saying James was actually paying his brother back for a real loan.

Records show that Biden indeed loaned $40,000 to his brother which was repaid shortly thereafter.

But even if James was really paying back loans, he still benefited from his brother's influence - and so did Joe indirectly, Comer said.

"Without his family peddling his name and his son threatening a CEFC associate with consequences that he said Joe Biden knew about, James wouldn’t have had the money to write the $40,000 check to his brother Joe."

Comer previously shared a "loan repayment" from James Biden to his brother in the amount of $200,000.

Joe Biden was infamously referred to as "the big guy" who would receive a 10 percent stake in CEFC, a venture that ended up steering millions to Hunter and James Biden.

Biden's defenders have repeatedly pointed to a lack of a "smoking gun" to exonerate Joe Biden, but Republicans say there is a complicated money trail.

"The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money and will hold President Biden accountable for his corruption," Comer promised.
