A number of Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have indicated that they will vote in favor of releasing to the public files having to do with the deceased convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. 

The Daily Mail reports that this includes several Republicans who have been staunch allies of President Donald Trump.

This includes U.S. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Nancy Mace (R-SC), joined Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Next week could be big for survivors of Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme.

The details

Massie is leading the effort.

The Daily Mail reports:

A handful of high-profile Republicans bucked President Donald Trump's desires and supported a petition to force a congressional vote on releasing additional files on pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace joined Thomas Massie in supporting his measure to force the Department of Justice and FBI to disclose withheld documents on the late child trafficker.

Thus far, Massie's petition has reached 218 signatures.

The petition would require the House of Representatives to hold a vote on whether or not to release the Epstein files.

Accordingly to the Daily Mail, "officials in the president's administration reportedly have fumed at the Republican lawmaker defections."

Trump speaks out

President Trump himself has also spoken out on the issue, by attacking, on social media, the Republicans who have joined Massie's effort.

Trump, in fact, has even gone so far as to withdraw his endorsement of Greene.

The president wrote:

I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of “Congresswoman” Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia. Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country . . . all I see “Wacky” Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN! It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!) . . .

Trump has also spoken out against what he refers to as the "Epstein Hoax."

In one message, he wrote:

Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice, together with our great patriots at the FBI, to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions, to determine what was going on with them, and him. This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his “Island.” Stay tuned!!!
