U.S. Rep. James Comer (R-KY) says that not even former President Joe Biden knew who was using the infamous autopen to sign off on administrative actions.

Comer, according to Breitbart News, made the claim during a recent appearance on the Fox News Channel's "Hannity."

The congressman and his committee - the House Oversight Committee - are trying to get to the bottom of the autopen controversy, but it would appear that he has been having a hard time getting the facts.

Background

Comer and his committee have been interviewing Biden associates in relation to the coverup of the president's failing health.

Among those interviewed have been Neera Tanden, the former director of Biden's Domestic Policy Council, Kevin O'Connor, the former White House physician, and Ashley Williams, and senior advisor, among other things, to Biden.

O'Connor pleaded the Fifth Amendment, while the other two have appeared to plead ignorance.

Fox News reports, "[Tanden] said she was authorized to direct autopen signatures but was unaware of who in the president's inner circle was giving her final clearance, according to a source familiar with the aide's closed-door testimony in front of Congress Tuesday."

Williams was the latest one to testify, but it appears that she did not provide much.

"No evidence that..."

Comer, during his appearance on "Hannity," talked about the latest findings of his investigation.

He said:

Well, we interviewed another person that worked very closely with Joe Biden, and I will say this, Joe Biden apparently wasn’t the only person that had a poor memory in the Biden administration. Our witness today couldn’t recall anything, just like our witness earlier from a couple of days ago, Dr. O’Connor. He pled the Fifth. So what we have found thus far is nobody — that even the ones who we thought were in the inner circle of the Biden White House ever saw Joe Biden. But according to the reports, Joe Biden was in the White House.

This, of course, leads to the question of who exactly was running the Biden White House, if supposed members of his inner circle were not.

Comer continues by noting, "This doesn't make any sense."

He said:

It adds fuel to the fire that there was a select few — and when I say a select few, Jason, I’m talking about that I can count them on one hand, that were calling the shots. There is no evidence, thus far, that has emerged that Joe Biden knew anything about who was using the autopen or the process involved in authorizing the use of the autopen.
