Conservative actor James Woods targeted by DNC, leaked Twitter files show

Elon Musk changed everything on Friday night after he delivered on his promise to expose how far Twitter had gone in 2020 to censor certain people, including influential conservative actor James Woods.

According to Breitbart, Twitter went beyond suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story. The company, under its old leadership, dialed in on influencers like Woods, among others. But Woods' situation is especially troubling.

Breitbart noted: "Internal Twitter emails released on Friday by Elon Musk via journalist Matt Taibbi revealed that Twitter censored a tweet about the Hunter Biden laptop story by actor James Wood at the behest of the Democratic National Committee (DNC)."

In a nutshell, this means that it's no longer a Russian-disinformation-based "conspiracy theory" that a Big Tech social media platform actively worked on behalf of a major political party to silence its influential critics.

"At the behest"

Matt Taibbi, the independent journalist entrusted by Musk to disseminate all of the newsworthy data from the document leak, told quite the story about the Democratic National Committee's arm of power within the halls of Twitter at the time.

Apparently, the DNC was able to, with the sending of a single email, silence virtually anyone it wanted.

The documents came in the wake of a majority of the establishment media and their allies in Congress denying that Twitter, or any other Big Tech firm, was engaged in such levels of censorship.

Whenever the DNC or a powerful Democrat determined that a tweet should be suppressed or removed, it was simply a matter of firing off an email to their internal Twitter contacts.

Woods a target

Woods has become a prominent and ultra-rare conservative voice in Hollywood, and as such, was a main target of the Democrats in the lead-up to the 2020 election.

The comedian and actor had posted a meme related to the Hunter Biden laptop story. The DNC clearly didn't approve, and asked Twitter to get rid of it. And they did.

"Handled" is the response most often seen in the internal documents. That meant that the request to silence critics of Democrats or then-candidate Joe Biden had been approved.

Taibbi noted that among the first trove of documents, it became clear that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was mostly out of the loop on such decisions, yet failed to walk them back before the damage was done.
