President Joe Biden is just weeks away from leaving the White House, and some media figures have begun to look back fondly on his time in office.

However, one conservative commentator recently pushed back on that trend by pointing out how whispers about Biden's incompetence have since been vindicated.

Liberal panelist references report on Biden's mental state

According to the New York Post, CNN contributor Scott Jennings made that case during an appearance on "State of the Union" this past weekend.

His remarks were prompted by liberal pundit Karen Finney, who pointed to a recent Wall Street Journal article in which White House sources spoke on the president's cognitive decline.

"It was very disturbing to learn late in the year about just how bad, how poor his health has become. And like many, I did not realize that it had gotten to that point," Finney was quoted as saying.

Finney says Biden's efforts will "stand the test of time"

Nevertheless, the Democratic activist insisted that Biden's accomplishment will "stand the test of time" following his departure.

"I think he showed up for the job. He got the work done. I think some of the accomplishments also in the Middle East and foreign policy will also stand the test of time," she declared.

Finney went on to tout the president's respond to the COVID-19 pandemic along with his decision to sign high-profile pieces of legislation.

Specifically, she pointed to the CHIPS and Science ACT, a bill which aims to promote domestic production of semiconductors.

Jennings: "I think he’s going to leave office in disgrace!"

Those words did not go over well with Jennings, who asked, "You think the Middle East is in better shape today than when he took office?"

"I think he’s going to leave office in disgrace!" Jennings continued. "The Hunter Biden pardon was disgraceful. He’s going to be remembered largely for inflation and for the disastrous Afghanistan pullout."

What's more, Jennings pointed to efforts by White House staff to keep Americans from knowing about the president's mental acuity.

"We still don’t know the full extent of what they did to try to hide what they have been doing over in the West Wing," he stressed.
