Country star Colt Ford is in critical condition after recently suffering a heart attack.

The heart attack, according to Fox News, took place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, after the 54-year-old musician had put on a show at Dierks Bently's Whiskey Row in Gilbert, Arizona.

Ford - whose real name is Jason Farris Brown - was scheduled to put on another show the following night at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm, Nevada.

This show, however, had to be called off because Ford was hospitalized.

What we know:

Ford ended up being taken to the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona, on Thursday.

At the time of this writing, he is still in the medical center's intensive care unit (ICU), and he is listed as being in "stable, but critical condition."

This is all according to a press release that has been put out by Ford's publicist.

People magazine reports, "Colt Ford is currently in the ICU after suffering a heart attack. The country-rap star experienced a heart attack on Thursday, April 4, after performing at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row venue in Gilbert, Arizona, according to a press release."

The outlet continues, "Issued in the morning on April 5, the release stated that Ford, 54, is 'currently under care in the Intensive Care Unit at the Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.'"

It's not the first time

USA Today reports that Ford has dealt with his fair share of health issues over the years.

"In May 2023, he told Taste of Country about his autoimmune disease diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis. In the interview, he discussed how the disease typically affects the muscles in your face, eyes, and throat, and there is no cure. He said the condition affected his vision to the point that he had no control over his right eye," the outlet reports.

It continues, "Ford also revealed he's dealt with fatigue while playing his shows, but had been put on supplements by his doctor which were 'really helping' him at the time. Ford has also battled eye cancer, which led to him undergoing surgery about three years ago."

Ford, according to the New York Postis known for his "country-rap" music and is especially known for his collaborations with other country musicians. According to the outlet, Ford has collaborated with Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen, Chase Rice, Walker Hayes, Toby Keith, Lady A, and Willie Nelson.

Ford was also, at one time, a professional golfer.
