Country music fans were shocked this week to learn that star performer Morgan Wallen was arrested.

According to Breitbart, the 30-year-old musician was taken into custody this past weekend by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Wallen is facing three felony charges

Morgan's arrest stemmed from an incident at the Chief's Bar in Nashville on Sunday evening in which he allegedly threw a chair off the building's roof.

The chair is said to have then landed just feet away from a pair of local police officers who were standing on the street below.

Wallen's arrest report states that staff informed the officers that Wallen was responsible for throwing the chair. It further asserts that officers viewed video footage showing the singer "lunging and throwing an object over the roof."

Wallen is now facing three felony charges and had to post a $15,250 bond before being released from the Davidson County jail.

Artist was previously condemned over use of racial slurs

Worrick Robinson serves as Wallen's attorney, and he provided a statement to the Daily Mail which read, "At 10:53 pm Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct."

Robinson went on to assure the British newspaper that his client "is cooperating fully with authorities" on the matter.

This is not the first time that Wallen has been the subject of controversy, as in 2021 a video surfaced showing him using racial slurs while intoxicated.

Wallen later expressed regret over the incident in an interview with Billboard magazine, saying, "That person is definitely not the same person I am now. There’s no excuse. I’ve never made an excuse. I never will make an excuse."

Breitbart writer points to double standard

However, Breitbart senior writer John Nolte pointed out that while Wallen was roundly condemned, Hunter Biden has faced little in the way of consequences despite using similar language.

Nolte wrote that "because Wallen is a southerner and Hunter is a powerful Democrat’s son, Hunter paid no social price while Wallen lost his entire career."

"Wallen lost his management, radio, and streaming airplay, and all the award shows dropped him," Nolte continued before adding, "And so, unlike Hunter, Wallen’s now in groveling mode to prove to the Woke Nazis he's been re-educated and deserves a second chance."
