Court blocks Biden administration from selling off border wall materials
The Biden administration raised eyebrows earlier this year when it began selling off materials which had been purchased to build a border wall.
However, the state of Texas responded by flexing its legal muscles and convincing a court to block the White House's plan.
State attorney general touts "major victory"
According to the Washington Examiner, Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton released a statement on Friday which hailed the development.
"We have successfully blocked the Biden Administration from disposing of any further border wall materials before President Trump takes office," the attorney general wrote.

"This follows our major victory forcing Biden to build the wall, and we will hold his Administration accountable for illegally subverting our Nation’s border security until their very last day in power, especially where their actions are clearly motivated by a desire to thwart President-elect Trump’s immigration agenda," Paxton went on to add.
Sale of border wall materials to be investigated
The Examiner noted that President-elect Donald Trump also reacted positively to Friday's news in a post on his Truth Social platform.
"In a major, crucial WIN for America, and our National Security, a Federal Judge in Texas, based on papers we filed just a few days ago, has PROHIBITED the Biden Administration from selling any materials designated for the Border Wall, that has been wrecked by Biden and his cronies, and which I am going to rebuild in order to protect our Country from violent migrant crime, fentanyl smuggling, sex trafficking, terror attacks, and other heinous, Nation ending disasters," Trump stated.
"The Judge has also ordered an investigation into the illegal selling of the materials, which will expose just how corrupt and anti-American Radical Democrats are," he added.
Fox News reported earlier this month that Trump's attorneys had submitted an amicus brief in support of Texas' arguments.
"The Court should issue an order directing the Defendants to immediately stop any ongoing sale of border-barrier materials to private parties pending the Court’s review of Defendant’s conduct, and the Court should swiftly conduct a searching examination of the Government’s conduct, by formal discovery if necessary, to examine the Government’s compliance with the law, the Constitution, and the Court’s injunction," the brief read.
Brief points to "potentially criminal behavior"
It went on to allege that if officials are "deliberately selling off border-wall materials at a major financial loss to the Government to obstruct the pro-wall policy of Congress and President Trump, such conduct likely constitutes a criminal act, such as a conspiracy to defraud the United States."
"At the very least, the reported conduct raises troubling concerns of potentially criminal behavior," the brief went on to assert.
The Biden administration's sale of border wall material was also condemned by Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn. He told Fox News, "I'm looking forward to January 20, when President Trump begins to enforce the laws that are already in place that Joe Biden refuses to enforce."
