Court rules that Biden administration was wrong to cut Texas' border fence
President Joe Biden made headlines last year when he ordered Border Patrol agents to cut razor wire which had been erected by the state of Texas along its border with Mexico.
Yet in a move that left the Lone Star State cheering, a federal court just delivered a smackdown to the president.
Gov. Greg Abbott: "Biden was wrong to cut our razor wire"
According to Breitbart, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued an injunction this past Wednesday barring the administration from removing Texas' border fencing.
What's more, the judges also gave the state a greenlight to put up more razor wire barriers, a fact which was welcomed by Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in a social media post.
"The federal court of appeals just ruled that Texas has the right to build the razor wire border wall that we have constructed to deny illegal entry into our state," Abbott wrote.

"Biden was wrong to cut our razor wire," the Republican governor stressed before adding that his administration will "continue adding more razor wire border barrier."
Court found Texas was "seeking only to safeguard its property"
Abbot followed that announcement up two days later with another social media post which read, "MILES of razor wire barriers have been installed at the Texas-Mexico border to deter and repel illegal entry. "
"Despite the continued attacks and lawsuits by the Biden-Harris Administration, Texas refused to back down from protecting our state. We WILL hold the line," he asserted.
In a majority opinion authored by Trump-appointed Circuit Judge Kyle Duncan, the court found that Texas was "seeking only to safeguard its property" rather than "regulate" the Border Patrol.
Duncan further noted that the public interest supports "clear protections for property rights from government intrusion and control" while federal authorities may not "unnecessarily intrude into the rights of countless property owners."
Biden-appointed judge dissents
Circuit Judge Don Willett is a fellow Trump appointee who previously served on the Texas Supreme Court, and he signed on to Duncan's opinion.
The lone dissent came from Circuit Judge Irma Carrillo Ramirez, who was appointed by President Biden in December of 2023.
Ramirez argued that Texas claimed a "virtual power of review" over how the federal government chooses to enforce border policy.
