A record amount of fentanyl and other deadly drugs have crossed the border in recent years, with the CDC reporting nearly 107,000 fatal overdoses in 2021.

Yet despite failing to address what is a very real crisis, critics say that Vice President Kamala Harris is instead trying to manufacture a new health emergency.

Harris warns of "climate mental health" problems

According to Fox News, Harris warned during a Wednesday appearance at the "Aspen Ideas: Climate Conference" in Miami Beach, Florida that "climate mental health" problems are afflicting a growing number of activists.

"One of the young leaders was talking to me about climate mental health. I said, 'Tell me what’s going on with your peers,'" Harris recalled.

Harris explained that the activist told her many are struggling with their "climate mental health." She added,  "I said, 'I think I can understand that, but unpack it for me.' And she talked about how her peers are thinking about it."

"One example is, you know, whether, when they’re ready, could they start a family — worried about what that would mean and the stress of it," the vice president insisted.

Critics say Democrats responsible for climate-related anxiety

"They were talking about in terms of their peers trying to figure out, you know, they’re going to have to get a job and they’re gonna have to make a living — but what they can do and how can they adapt the education that they are having now to their activism?"

Fox News noted that some Twitter users responded by accusing the vice president and other leading Democrats of actually perpetuating the very problem she described.

Among those who chastised Harris over her story was Heritage Foundation research fellow Delano Squires, who complained, "We are being led by some of the most fearful, neurotic, and narcissistic people in history."

"Pack animals typically put those types way in the back," he continued, adding, "In this country, that dysfunction is part of their appeal."

Climate alarmism compared to child abuse

Meanwhile, geochemist Dr. Matthew M. Wielicki complained that the "climate alarmism" promoted by Harris and others on the left constitutes a form of psychological abuse.

"Climate alarmism is mental health abuse of young people," he tweeted, adding, "Many of my students also expressed concern about having children because the alarmists have convinced them the planet is ending. This will be the lasting legacy of climate alarmism."
