Fox News reported that Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff left Washington last week for a vacation in Hawaii.

Harris has since returned from the Aloha State and put out a video for supporters which left some observers wondering about her health.

Harris appeared "bleary-eyed"

According to the Daily Mail, the video was released on Tuesday and showed Harris looking "bleary-eyed" as she spoke for roughly half a minute.

"I just have to remind you, don't you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before November 5th," she said in reference to President-elect Donald Trump's victory earlier this month.

"And you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire," the vice president continued.

"So don't ever let anybody or any circumstance take your power from you," the former Democratic presidential nominee said as she drew to a close.

Critics accuse Harris of being intoxicated

The vice president's odd cadence and overall appearance led some social media users to suggest that she may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro reiterated that suggestion during Wednesday's episode of his daily podcast, saying, "Somebody decided it would be a great idea to film her drunk talking to the American people."

"There is no world in which she is not sloshed beyond all recognition in this video. I mean, truly sloshed," Shapiro went on to add.

Ben Williamson is a communications specialist who previously worked in the Trump White House, and Newsweek noted that he spoke up in a social media post of his own, writing, "I'd read a 5,000 word article on how this got approved for release."

Campaign adviser says Harris showed "tremendous loyalty to President Biden"

Meanwhile, Newsweek also reported that former Harris campaign adviser Stephanie Cutter recently told the left-wing podcast "Pod Save America" that the vice president struggled to distance herself from President Joe Biden.

"Vice presidents stick by their presidents," Cutter stressed. "And she wasn't willing to, you know, change that precedent for whoever the future president, vice presidential partnership would be because it would mean a whole, you know, different set of problems, as if we don't have enough problems in our democracy right now."

"She felt like she was part of the administration," Cutter pointed out. "So why should she look back and pick out, cherry-pick, some things that she would have done differently when she was part of it? And she also—she had tremendous loyalty to President Biden."
