Critics slam Melania Trump for decorating front of White House with pumpkins

Democrats and their media allies work overtime to hyperfocus on any issue or situation that could possibly make President Donald Trump or First Lady Melania Trump look bad, and they found another one this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Melania Trump was criticized by Trump haters in the lead-up to Halloween for decorating the White House with dozens of pumpkins and other Halloween-appropriate decorations.

They're apparently mad because they believe its bad optics, given that millions of Americans are set to lose their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to start the month of November.

Those same people mad at the first lady are disturbingly ignorant of the fact that the president has no control over whether or not Democrats vote to pass a spending bill that would keep the government funded and SNAP benefits flowing.

What's going on?

The people mad about losing their EBT cards until the government is funded took out their anger on Melania and the fact that she had the front of the White House decorated with pumpkins.

The White House quickly responded to the nonsense, with Davis Ingle, a White House spokesperson, issuing a statement to the outlet.

"The Democrats shut down the government and SNAP benefits. We’re not going to allow them to steal the joy of Halloween for children too," he said.

He added, "President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are excited to host Halloween at the White House and carry on this special tradition for American families and guests to enjoy."

The Trumps also have big Halloween plans, as the outlet noted:

President Trump and First Lady Melania will also be hosting Halloween at the White House for thousands of children and families with The International Fresh Produce Association.

As part of the festivities, IFPA is providing 7,500 apples from Washington and New York states to participants, along with thousands of colorful mums and pumpkins.

Additionally, the pumpkins from the White House decorations will be donated to the DC Central Kitchen.

Social media reaction

Many Trump critics and TDS-ridden social media users attacked the first lady over the decorations.

"Awesome, too bad millions will have no food soon," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Instead of decorating with food, how about using it to give nutrition to the needy?"

SNAP benefits are set to expire nationwide on Nov. 1 unless and until Democrats vote in favor of funding it.
