Democrats and the liberal media desperately want a dirty story about any of President Donald Trump's Cabinet secretaries or advisers, and their latest target is Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem.

The Daily Mail ran a piece this week, once again attempting to suggest that Noem is having an affair with Homeland Security adviser Corey Lewandowski, as the two live across from each other in Washington, D.C.

Both Noem and Lewandowski are currently married to their longtime spouses, and Noem has previously denied rumors of having an affair with him.

The Daily Mail cited sources who said they see Lewandowski coming and going from Noem's condo, which is essentially across the street from his in the swanky Navy Yard neighborhood.

What's going on?

The outlet cited sources who live in the neighborhood to continue the claim that the two Trump officials are sharing more than just a close working relationship.

The Daily Mail noted:

"I've seen them together here both in the elevator and in common areas," one resident of Noem's building told DailyMail.com. "Don't forget DC is a small town and people talk. It is an open secret that they are together.

"It has always been joked about that Navy Yard is a dorm for Hill Republicans and Trump staffers – now it's even higher up, with married cabinet secretaries bunking their volunteer chiefs."

The Daily Mail source reportedly added, "Keeping the Homeland 'secure', or at least pretending to, is now 24/7 I suppose."

Seemingly desperate for a story, the Daily Mail said its own reporter spotted Lewandowski going back and forth between his apartment and Noem's, which would make perfect sense given that they work closely together.

Lewandowski hasn't commented on questions regarding a possible fling, but Noem has reportedly denied it.

That didn't stop the outlet from quoting another source, who reportedly said, "There's no question the relationship is ongoing."

Haters pounce

Not surprisingly, Trump and Noem haters across social media jumped on the report, knocking Noem and Lewandowski for touting their strong Christian values while being accused of having an affair.

Even though there's no hard evidence of what the two are doing behind closed doors, that doesn't stop the media these days from running the story anyway.

It's truly sad to see the left, and their media allies, spend so much energy on what's more than likely a nothingburger.
