Dem congressional candidate hit with DOJ assault, conspiracy charges over ICE agent incident

President Donald Trump's deportation initiatives that involve Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have Democrats across the country losing their everloving minds and making extremely poor life choices.

Just ask Kat Abughazaleh, a former Media Matters journalist running to represent Illinois’ 9th District in the House of Representatives, who, according to the Daily Mail, might end up in the slammer before she would ever make it to Congress.

Abughazaleh was charged this week by the Department of Justice for allegedly assaulting an ICE agent.

The incident, which resulted in an indictment issued last week, involved the Democratic candidate and five others who allegedly assaulted an ICE officer while they were in a vehicle.

What's going on?

The group, including Abughazaleh, was charged with banging on the ICE agent's vehicle, beating on the glass, and etching "PIG" into the side of the vehicle, resulting in serious charges.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, at the direction of President Trump, has vowed to come down hard on those who endanger the lives of ICE agents and their families, which seems to be a disgusting and growing trend on the left.

The Daily Mail noted:

The indictment, which was filed on October 23, accuses Abughazaleh, as well as five others, of attacking an ICE agent’s vehicle by banging aggressive on the car’s side, back windows, and hood.

Abughazaleh is accused of hindering and impeding the vehicle's movement and etching the word ‘PIG’ on the ICE officer’s car.

If found guilty, she could face six years on the conspiracy charge and up to eight years on the assault charge, effectively deleting any chance she thought she had of serving in Congress.

Social media reaction

Users across social media had plenty to say about the arrest and her ultimate fate.

"Good! Now lock her up and make an example out of her," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Quit impeding Federal Officers from doing their duties, it is against the law."

Only time will tell if she's found guilty and, if so, how much time she'll serve.
