Democratic donor says Kamala Harris' spending choices disqualify her from running again
Vice President Kamala Harris was decisively defeated by President-elect Donald Trump this month despite her campaign having spent over $1.5 billion.
One major Democratic figure recently argued that Harris' fiscal mismanagement should permanently disqualify her from ever running again.
Democratic megadonor: "If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America"
Left-wing megadonor John Morgan made that assertion earlier this week during an interview with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo.
"I think this disqualifies her forever," Morgan told Cuomo on Monday. "If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America."
"The same thing is going to follow Harris for the rest of her career. She cannot be trusted with the money, and the donors are going to be, like, 'Where is this money?'" he went on to predict.
"All of a sudden, everybody’s got the keys to the candy store, ad buyers, talent consultants. There's 100 days to do it, and the money started pouring in," Morgan said of Harris' candidacy.
"Crazy" spending decision said to have been driven by "ego"
Morgan denounced many spending decisions as being "crazy" and attributed them to "ego." This included shelling out $15 million for "event production," $4 million for private jets and paying $1 million to Oprah Winfrey's company.
When Morgan was asked if he thought that any of the campaign funds had been stolen, the high-dollar donor responded, "Maybe legally."
Meanwhile, the Independent reported that Harris and her former running mate, Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, are set to have a meeting with the Democratic National Committee's finance directors.
Harris isn't only facing questions regarding campaign finance issues, as the vice president also raised eyebrows with a video she released on social media.
Critics say Harris appeared to be intoxicated in video message to supporters
As the Daily Mail pointed out, the video clip was put up on Tuesday and it showed Harris looking "bleary-eyed," with her odd cadence and overall appearance leading some observers to suggest that she might have been under the influence of alcohol.

Among the critics was conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who told his podcast listeners on Wednesday, "Somebody decided it would be a great idea to film her drunk talking to the American people."
"There is no world in which she is not sloshed beyond all recognition in this video. I mean, truly sloshed," the host went on to insist.
