Democratic donors appear reluctant to fund Biden presidential library
Earlier this year, city officials from Wilmington, Delaware suggested four sites where former President Joe Biden could construct his presidential library.
However, choosing a location isn't Biden's only concern as a new report suggests that Democratic donors may be reluctant to open their wallets.
DNC's bank balance is the lowest it has been in five years
That's according to the Associated Press, which noted last month how the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has posted "underwhelming" fundraising numbers since Biden left office.
The news service cited the DNC's most recent figures showing that it had just $14 million in cash at the end of July compared with an $84 million bank balance for the Republican National Committee (RNC).
The Associated Press pointed out how this figure represented the smallest amount of money which the DNC has held over the past five years.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press also highlighted remarks made on Friday by longtime Democratic fundraiser Rufus Gifford, who serves as chairman of the newly created Joe and Jill Biden Foundation's board.
Board chair worries that potential donors are afraid of Trump
Gifford raised the prospect that corporations and institutional contributors who have donated to presidential libraries in the past may now be hesitant due to the fear of political retaliation from President Donald Trump.
"There's certainly folks — folks who may have been not thinking about those kinds of issues who are starting to think about them," Gifford stated.
"That being said… we’re not going to create a budget, we’re not going to set a goal for ourselves that we don’t believe we can hit," he stressed.
In addition to Rufus, the Joe and Jill Biden Foundation's board also includes former Secretary of State Antony Blinken as well as Biden adviser Steve Ricchetti.
Trump's library to be partly funded by lawsuit settlement
Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported in December that ABC News agreed to settle a lawsuit by making a $15 million donation to President Donald Trump's presidential library.

The lawsuit arose after ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos falsely claimed that Trump was "found liable for rape" and "defaming the victim of that rape."
"We are pleased that the parties have reached an agreement to dismiss the lawsuit on the terms in the court filing," ABC News spokesperson Jeannie Kedas was quoted as saying in a statement.
