Democrats worried about Vance's 'likability' during VP debate

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) absolutely destroyed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) in the first and only vice-presidential debate, and Democrats are fully aware of that fact.

According to Fox News, NBC's Kristen Welker recently revealed that during the debate, she received numerous text messages from concerned Democrats regarding Vance's dominance over Walz during the debate, which was widely viewed by millions of voters.

Their main concern? It was reportedly how "likable" Vance was during the debate, especially compared to Walz, who stumbled at many turns.

Welker, during a recent interview, admitted that she received multiple texts from Democrats who seemed "panicked" over Vance's performance versus Walz.

What's going on?

Welker pointed out that Vance, who in a recent poll was near dead-last in the likability column for vice presidential candidates, focused on his weakness and turned the tables in a noticeable fashion.

"Sen. JD Vance clearly knew his challenge was to deal with the likability factor. The fact that in our poll, he's the second most disliked running mate in history. So I was getting texts from Democrats panicked, quite frankly, who were saying, ‘Wow, he’s really moderating himself on these issues. He’s the most likable he’s ever been,'" Welker said.

Not surprisingly, Welker had to find something positive to say about Walz and something negative about Vance as she pointed to what happened near"

"Yet, that moment at the end where Gov. Walz pressed him on whether he accepts whether former President Trump lost the election and he said, ‘Let’s focus on the future’ — they are going to try to make that into a flash point," the end of the debate," she said.

Welker added, "They’re already in the process of turning that into an ad. They believe that is going to be a way to really try to appeal to that very small sliver that is still undecided, but moderate, independent, suburban voters."

Social media reacts

Social media users reacted to Welker's confession, many using sarcasm in the moment.

"What do you all think? Wanna try a likable VP?" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Post debate analysis : Vance convinced Walz to vote for Trump."

Clearly, Democrats are worried sick.
