Dems forgot that Obama fired numerous military leaders upon first taking office
Democrats and their media allies are throwing a never-ending stream of hissy fits over President Donald Trump and his Cabinet's mission to cut the dead and useless weight across all government agencies and sectors.
The left has been especially triggered over Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's to reform the Pentagon and take it back to its roots -- which means having in place officers focused on training troops for war as opposed to sending troops to DEI-related schooling and learning proper pronouns.
While Democrats complain and cry about the firings, according to Fox News, they've quickly forgotten that former President Barack Obama did the exact same thing, just for different reasons.
Newly-elected presidents almost always fire and hire -- it's the quickest and most surefire way to get people in place who align with their policy views and vision for America.
What's happening?
As rumors continue to swirl around Washington D.C. regarding Hegseth assembling a list of top officers he's interested in firing, Fox News pointed out that Obama made plenty of big moves himself upon first taking office.
Fox News noted:
Five months into office in 2009, President Barack Obama relieved Army Gen. David McKiernan as the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan – making McKiernan the first wartime commander to be dismissed since Gen. Douglas MacArthur in 1951.
McKiernan was replaced at the suggestion of Defense Secretary Robert Gates, as he wanted "fresh eyes" on the battlefield at the time.
"We have a new strategy, a new mission and a new ambassador. I believe that new military leadership is also needed," Gates said at the time.
Obama would go on to fire numerous general and top military leaders for various reasons, and the left never made as much as a peep over it.
Though it hasn't been confirmed, Hegseth's firing list has many in the nation's capital worried sick.
Fox News noted:
Wildfire-like rumors swirled around Washington on Thursday of a "list" of names Hegseth has reportedly circulated among congressional leaders of generals and admirals he planned to fire. But members and staff of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees had seen no such list.
Social media reacts
Users across social media reacted to the news of Hegseth's alleged list of Pentagon officials and military leaders he plans to let go.
"While you’re at it @PeteHegseth, make sure to fire Captain James Quaresimo, Commanding Officer of Tactical Training Group Atlantic. woke & weak leader who felt compelled to threaten dishonorable discharge over the Covid vaccine to me and others," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "I'll make it easy. Anybody who was installed by Obama or Biden, fire them."
