Tragically, Jill Duggar Dillard and husband Derrick Dillard shared the news of their miscarriage on social media.

After four months of pregnancy, the couple shared the sad news of their daughter Isla Marie Dillard's stillbirth in an Instagram post on April 13, as Today.com reported.

“Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero. From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby," they wrote.

"Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world," the post continued.

From the announcement

The pair are gazing at a pink crocheted blanket in the photo they uploaded. They acknowledged that they were still hurting and mending "from the loss of our little Isla Marie," and they thanked their followers for praying for them.

The couple has three boys—Israel, nine, Samuel, six, and Fredrick, one. Jill Dillard became famous for being part of a family with 19 kids, which was the subject of their television program.

Duggar Dillard and Dillard released a family blog article from October 2021 on their suffering with pregnancy loss. This post was shared before their youngest son, Fredrick, was born in July 2022.

"A few days later," Duggar Dillard began to miscarry after she told her family the good news about her pregnancy, as they said on the blog.

“Even though it was too early to tell the baby’s gender, we picked a name that we feel encompasses our baby’s significance and the life we will always remember: River Bliss Dillard,” they added.

A New Addition

The couple announced their subsequent pregnancy on their Instagram and blog in February 2022.

“We were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss,” the blog read, before explaining that they had been keeping a secret about their progress for months.

“We are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022!”

The pair spoke to TODAY.com in September 2023, following the publication of her biography "Counting the Days," in which they acknowledged one other's role as a rock amid tough times.

“I couldn’t do much of what we’ve done the last five-plus years without her. Being a full-time mom with three little ones 8 and under is difficult," Dillard, a practicing lawyer, said.

"She does that and still makes time for our dates. She basically is a lawyer as well (because) she supported me through law school," he added.
