DHS confirms it will release Prince Harry's immigration records

Prince Harry could be in quite the legal predicament after it was revealed this week that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will release part of his immigration records.

According to Fox News, Prince Harry faces allegations that he lied about illegal drug use when he filled out the forms to move to the United States. A judge previously ordered that his records be released.

The issue is whether or not the prince was given preferential treatment when he came to the United States or whether he lied on immigration forms when he came here in 2020.

In 2023, in his memoir "Spare," Prince Harry revealed that he had used illegal drugs.

What's going on?

Some watchdog groups believe that Prince Harry lied on his immigration paperwork regarding illegal drug use, which prompted lawsuits in an attempt to have his immigration records released.

Fox News noted:

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, sued DHS in an attempt to get Harry’s record released, hoping to find out if the 40-year-old royal failed to disclose his former drug use on his immigration application.

Federal Judge Carl Nichols ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to release the records. DHS said it would comply, but would likely redact at least one section of his immigration records.

The records will be released in "stages" so as to not violate U.S. privacy laws, according to the judge's orders.

The DHS, headed by Sec. Kristi Noem, will have until Mar. 6 to comply with the federal judge's order to have the prince's records released.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the news regarding his upcoming records release.

"Megan better start sharping her pencils for her post divorce book. Harry getting barred from the country would give Meghan the prime opportunity she’s wanted to divorce him and keep custody of the kids here in the US," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Harry got some very BAD advice about writing his book. Harry and Meghan, two grifters with no country to grift in…."

It'll be interesting to see what the prince's records contain and whether or not he did, in fact, falsify his immigration paperwork. That could be monumentally embarrassing for the Royal Family.
