Disarray at Fox News as Murdochs attempt to reclaim control with Carlson, Bongino ousters

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is facing marginalization from the network. Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation have informed Breitbart News that Tonight host Tucker Carlson will remain in his position through the 2024 election.

Carlson's current contract is set to expire in December of 2024, and as of right now, three individuals with knowledge of the situation have informed Breitbart News that management at the network are seeking to retain Carlson on contract and not release him until after the election in 2024. Carlson's contract is set to expire in December of 2024, according to the network's report.

It was only a few days ago when the startling decision to terminate the top-rated weekend program hosted by Dan Bongino that the network made the decision to discontinue the top-rated weekday program hosted by Tucker Carlson.

Insider's View

Following is an insider account from people who are actually in the know, as a result of Breitbart News spending the past several days conducting interviews with key players in the personnel matters at Fox News, in order to find out what actually occurred.

Speaking with persons who genuinely know what's going on inside reveals two things: First, the network's official narrative is false.

Second, and perhaps most importantly, many of the whispers and rumors that have circulated in the days following the bombshell announcement that Carlson's program would be canceled are simply false.

For a variety of factors, no one would speak on the record. Fox News and the broader Murdoch empire are notorious for their ruthlessness toward anyone who speaks the truth about what is actually occurring there.

Irena Briganti, a representative for the network, is believed to have planted articles in Murdoch-owned publications such as the New York Post and Wall Street Journal that reflect negatively on News Corporation's opponents.

Contractual Complications

Carlson and Bongino are still technically under contract with the network. Carlson's contract extends through the general election in 2024, while Bongino's expires at the end of April.

According to sources, both parties are attempting to negotiate exit settlements, which will include non-disparagement clauses prohibiting them from ever speaking the truth about this matter. Fox News spokespersons reissued to Breitbart News the same public statements that the network issued when announcing Carlson and Bongino's departures in response to Breitbart News' requests for comment.

“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the Fox News statement on Carlson reads.

"We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. We thank Dan for his contributions and wish him success in his future endeavors,” the Fox News statement on Bongino reads.

The Murdoch family's unabashed power play, with Rupert Murdoch at the helm and his sons Lachlan and James Murdoch ascending to prominence, is reminiscent of a scene from the popular HBO series Succession.

They canceled their largest shows on both weekends and weekdays to show the rest of the staff who's in charge, but insiders say they've created a crisis that is rapidly spiraling out of control. In Succession, an aging media magnate, Logan Roy, navigates significant business decisions for his vast empire, while his offspring aggressively manipulate events to advance their own positions.

Rupert Murdoch is rumored to dislike the show, but its narrative is remarkably similar to what is occurring at Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, as Rupert Murdoch's adult offspring make moves to succeed their father.
