Prior to taking office, President Donald Trump announced that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) would root out waste and abuse.

Another sign that Musk is fulfilling his mandate came this past weekend when DOGE ended a slew of strange spending priorities.

$10 million spent on "voluntary medical male circumcisions" in Mozambique

According to Breitbart, that information was made public in a social media post put up by DOGE on Saturday afternoon.

Among the outlays was $10 million which had been allocated to fund "voluntary medical male circumcisions" in the African nation of Mozambique.

An additional $14 million was set aside to cover the cost of "improving public procurement" in Serbia. That came on top of the $14 million budgeted for promoting "social cohesion" in Mali.

Meanwhile, $486 million had been earmarked for the "Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening," of which $22 million was to be spent on developing an "inclusive and participatory political process" in Moldova.

Four FEMA officials fired for spending $59 million on housing illegal migrants

DOGE made headlines earlier this month when it discovered that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) used $59 million to house illegal migrants in New York City luxury hotels.

The Daily Caller reported that at least four FEMA officials were removed from their positions after the funding fiasco came to light.

"Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants," a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement read.

It went on to explain that the fired officials consisted of FEMA's chief financial officer as well as two program analysts and one grant specialist.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem claws back money used to house illegal migrants

Fox News also reported that DHS Secretary Noem declared that her department would begin recouping the misspent funds.

"Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels," a DHS spokesperson told the network.

"There will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people," the spokesperson stressed.
