Donald Trump credits son, Barron, with reaching younger voters
Former President Donald Trump's son, Barron Trump, has become a surprise key player in his quest to win the White House in November.
Barron Trump's strength includes the ability to reach out to younger voters, which has been a struggle for many Republicans, even Donald Trump, at least relative to his opponents.
According to the Washington Examiner, the former president recently admitted that his son, now 18 and a college freshman, is leveraging his connections with young influencers to steer his dad's campaign in a direction it sorely needed to go.
Younger voters are increasingly leaning toward Trump, according to some polls. Young voters could be the key to winning critical swing states.
What did he say?
The former president said his son has helped him "a little bit" in reaching one of the most coveted voting blocs for the upcoming election -- Gen Z voters.
The Examiner noted:
Barron Trump, the youngest of Trump’s five children and who started college earlier this year, has given his father some advice on who he should do podcast interviews with, including people the former president has “never heard of.”
The former president has done several podcast interviews with popular, younger hosts, such as Logan Paul and Lex Friedman, both of whom command extremely large audiences and have influence over Gen Z voters.
In a recent interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, the elder Trump opened up about how his son continues to help him with his campaign.
“A little bit, I mean, he tells me about all the hot guys, people I’d never heard of, ‘Dad, that guy is hot,’” Trump said in the interview, admitting he wasn't familiar with some of the people his son knows.
He added,"You know, it’s very cute, actually. A little bit. You know, Barron’s a very good student, he’s going to a very good school, always got good marks. He’s also tall, very tall, he’s a tall student."
Joe Rogan up next?
For years, many have begged podcast legend Joe Rogan to have Donald Trump on his show for an interview that would undoubtedly make headlines.
Finally, as of this week, Trump said he will sit down for an interview on his show, which generated tons of praise across social media. Rogan hasn't confirmed the interview, but rumors indicate he'll agree.
"You’re doing a lot of podcasts recently. One that I would love to see you on, I think Joe Rogan has to have you on. Would you do that?" host Kyle Forgeard asked.
"I think I’m doing it, actually," the former president wrote.
