Donald Trump dares judge to jail him over gag order violations

Former President Donald Trump has announced that he is willing to go to jail to defend free speech practically daring Judge Juan Merchan to imprison him for violating his gag order.

Trump and his lawyers have attacked the gag order as "unconstitutional," and it almost looks like he is trying to get imprisoned. The optics of Judge Merchan throwing the leading Republican presidential candidate in prison would be devastating.

Americans already believe that the case against Trump is blatantly political and throwing him in prison will prove that point further.

When Trump was arrested and forced to take a mug shot, it backfired badly on Democrats.

Calling their bluff

Trump used that mug shot as campaign material as he builds his return to the White House as an uphill battle against a system that is doing everything to stop him.

In multiple indictments, the prosecution has put gag orders on him to prevent him from talking about the very suspicious and political circumstances around the indictments against him.

The gag orders are meant to censor Trump and prevent him from exposing how rigged the game is against him under the guise of protecting the very Democrat juries that have been selected to weigh his case.

In remarks outside of the courtroom on Monday, Trump stated "I have to watch every word I tell you people. You ask me a question, a simple question I'd like to give it, but I can't talk about it because this judge has given me a gag order and [says] you'll go to jail if you violate it.'

"I'll do that sacrifice"

What Trump said next shocked everyone as Trump called the system's bluff.

Trump continued by saying, "And frankly, you know what? Our Constitution is much more important than jail. It's not even close. I'll do that sacrifice any day."

Judge Merchan's gag order stipulates that Trump may not make public statements about witnesses and their potential participation or make remarks about court staff, DA staff or family members of staff.

The prohibition against remarks is designed to prevent Trump from talking about the political actors involved in this case like Judge Merchan's daughter, who has worked for President Joe Biden's presidential campaign.

What comes next

Trump is defiant and has made it clear that he will push the limits until he is put in prison.

That is the last thing that President Joe Biden and the Democrat Party want as it will vindicate everything Trump has been saying for years now.

The next few days will be pivotal and we will likely see if Judge Merchan backs off on the jail threats or if he does something monumentally stupid and gives Trump exactly what he wants.
