Elon Musk deletes social media posts linking Trump with Jeffrey Epstein
The rift between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk took an unexpected turn last week when Musk asserted that Trump's name appears in files related to deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Yet in an indication that their feud may be cooling down, Musk has apparently withdrawn the allegation.
Post claiming that Trump "is in the Epstein files" has been deleted
According to Breitbart, Musk first advanced his claim in a post on X, writing, "Time to drop the really big bomb: (Trump) is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public."
Despite not offering evidence in support of his accusation, Musk later put up another statement, saying, "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
However, the website noted that Musk, who helped create and lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), had deleted both posts as of Saturday morning.
Musk's decision to delete the posts came two days after hedge fund manager Bill Ackman publicly called for reconciliation between the president and his former advisor.
Calls for Trump and Musk "to make peace for the benefit of our great country"
"I support (Donald Trump) and (Elon Musk) and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart," Ackman stated in an X post on Thursday.
I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country.
We are much stronger together than apart.

Musk appeared receptive to the hedge fund manager's argument and responded with a post of his own, writing, "You're not wrong."
Meanwhile, Newsmax reported that Trump also seemed to calm the waters when speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday.
Trump says that he is "not thinking about Elon Musk" but wishes him "well"
"I'm really interested in the country solving problems, including war problems in very faraway lands," Trump was quoted as telling the journalists.
"Honestly, I've been so busy working on China, working on Russia, working on Iran … I'm not thinking about Elon Musk. I just wish him well," Trump added.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also provided a statement to CNN on Thursday concerning Trump's disagreement with Musk.
She maintained that the president is instead "focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again."
