Elon Musk and his mother reveal Musk's conversation with Barron Trump at Thanksgiving Dinner at Mar-a-Lago
Barron Trump, the youngest of President-elect Donald Trump's children at 18, has long been viewed as a quiet, shy, and reclusive member of the family, much like his mother, former first lady Melania Trump, as he has largely avoided the spotlight and rarely had anything to say publicly.
Yet, according to tech billionaire Elon Musk and his mother Maye, Barron is actually a rather outspoken and smart conversationalist in a private setting, according to The List.
Their assessment came after they reportedly spent much of a Thanksgiving Dinner gathering at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida speaking with the young man who was home from college in New York City for the holiday weekend.
Viral photo of Donald and Barron Trump sparks discussion about Elon Musk
On Thursday, a photo from the Mar-a-Lago Thanksgiving Dinner event went viral on X and showed President-elect Trump and his son Barron holding an apparently friendly and relaxed conversation at the center table.
The photo was captioned as if the father was asking, "Is it okay if I’m friends with Elon?" to which the son replied, "I’ll allow it, Father."
The List noted that Musk has become a fixture on Trump's side since even before the election in early November, as he reportedly has been routinely spotted at Mar-a-Lago and has developed a positive relationship with the former and future Republican president.
Musk reveals his conversation with Barron, his mother says they talked "all night"
In response to the viral photo of President-elect Trump and his son Barron, Musk commented and said, "I was discussing consciousness & video games with Barron."
That reply went viral as well and prompted further speculative discussion among other X users of what Barron is really like in person, given the narratives that he is typically quiet and reserved without much to say.
The conversation was further elevated when Maye Musk, Elon's mother who was also present at the Mar-a-Lago Thanksgiving Dinner event, weighed in with her own thoughts about the once and future first son and his talk with her own son.
"They were talking all night. Barron is very smart," the proud mother of the billionaire tech entrepreneur said in a repost of Musk's comment, and added a pair of heart-eyed emoji icons.
Trump and Elon now "best friends," Musk an "honorary member" of the Trump family
The List noted that just a few days earlier, Maye Musk had indicated during a Fox Business interview that her son Elon and President-elect Trump had essentially become "best friends" during and after the campaign and election.
"They just seem to be having fun, a lot of fun. And it's nice for both of them to have fun," she said. "And Elon really respects him a lot and is really happy that there's a future for America now."
Jokes have been made that Musk has spent so much time at Mar-a-Lago with the president-elect that he is now essentially an "honorary member of the Trump family," given how apparently inseparable they have become over the past few months.
If that is indeed the case, then that would make Musk a sort of honorary adoptive uncle for Barron, and fans of both are undoubtedly excited to see what may come in the future the pair of reportedly brilliant individuals.
