Email sent by Cybertruck bomber to podcaster Shawn Ryan is authentic, FBI says
The backstory of Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion suspect Matthew Livelsberger is becoming more interesting by the day, it seems.
According to the New York Post, the FBI has confirmed that an email Livelsberger reportedly sent to podcaster Shawn Ryan before the bombing is authentic but failed to verify if the suspect's claims held any truth.
Even so, the confirmation is nothing short of a bombshell, given that the podcaster and others who shared it were accused of spreading a hoax email.
Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Las Vegas Spencer Evans confirmed the email's authenticity during a press conference this week, carefully backing away from the content of the email, which contained jaw-dropping claims.
What happened?
Reporters were eager to know if the email had actually been sent to Ryan by Livelsberger, and Evans was quick to address the question during the presser.
"We have confirmed the document that he sent to the podcast. We know that he was the one that sent that document. That’s correct,” Evans told the press in attendance.
"We’re not speaking to the content," Evans added. "I mean, he’s talking about, feeling that he was, you know, surveilled, guilt. You can tell that there’s, you know, some anguish there, some frustration with the government."

Going further, Evans said that the agency was not ready to talk about some of the more sensitive details revealed in the email or confirm any of the suspect's claims.
"I mean, there’s a whole host of things. So we haven’t gotten into, you know, what’s legitimate, what’s not,” Evans said. “The only thing that out of an abundance of caution, inasmuch as there’s Department of Defense equities that speak to sources and methods or something else that would endanger folks overseas. That’s not being released. But beyond that, we haven’t vetted any of his writings to determine, you know, what’s legitimate and what was in his own head."
What was in the email?
One of the most eye-opening claims in Livelsberger's email to Ryan and his podcast guest was that the drone situation over New Jersey was actually a result of a highly advanced Chinese drone operation.
The New York Post noted:
Shoemate read the email on the podcast. In it, Livelsberger theorized that the purported drone sightings in New Jersey were actually Chinese “gravitic propulsion systems,” posing an extreme national security threat.
Livelsberger also blew the whistle on supposed drone strikes in Afghanistan in 2019 that resulted in heavy civilian casualties, noting that the government has attempted to cover it up.
If even a fraction of what Livelsberger wrote in the email is true, it's going to be a very interesting and scary time ahead.
