Erika Kirk tells why she will never watch assassination video
Erika Kirk shared with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Wednesday the reason why she hasn't and will never watch the video of her husband Charlie Kirk's assassination, along with other details of how she has dealt with his death.
"I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it," Erika told Watters.
"Certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee. There's certain things you see in your life that mark your soul forever," she continued.
"I don't want my husband's public assassination to be something l ever see," she added.
"Sick"
She went on to say that it seemed "sick" to her that people would enjoy watching her husband die.
"For people who actually enjoy watching that, it is quite literally sick," Kirk concluded.
Kirk has had a high profile since her husband was assassinated in Utah on September 10 while speaking to college students at a Turning Point USA event.
She has announced that she will take over running Turning Point for Charlie, and she accepted the Medal of Freedom from President Donald Trump on his behalf last month.
She also spoke at her husband's memorial service, saying she forgives the shooter, allegedly a 22-year-old male who lived with his transgender partner.
At the same service, Trump said about her, "We know the weight of this monumental loss is almost unbearable, but even in the midst of heartache and pain too great to even fathom, you have somehow found the strength and deep faith to be a comfort to millions and millions of people."
He praised her for her act of forgiveness and admitted that he struggled with hatred toward his enemies.
More than 60,000 people mourned with her at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where the Kirk family lives.
Millions more around the country and the world share her sorrow, and hopefully her determination to carry on Kirk's message of open debate and free speech.
