Fox News reported on Sunday that President Biden issued a blanket pardon for all crimes committed by his son Hunter Biden between January 1, 2014 and the end of this year.
"There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution," the president was quoted as saying in a statement.
"In trying to break Hunter, they've tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough," he continued.
Biden concluded by saying, "I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision."

"When you talk about the word selfish, their decision to run for President put the entire Democrat party and the United States of America in the position it's in now," he added.
Meanwhile, liberal legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin wrote in a guest column for The New York Times on Monday that Hunter Biden's pardon was a "consummate act of nepotism."
"With the pardon of his son, Mr. Biden added his name to the roll call of presidents who dishonored their office by misusing the pardon power," he declared.
