A former member of the U.S. House of Representatives is criticizing his own Democratic party for covering up former President Joe Biden's health issues. 

Dean Phillips did so an op-ed that he recently wrote for The Free Press.

He titled the piece, "I Warned My Party About Biden's Health. Will They Listen Now."

You may remember that Phillips briefly challenged Biden in the 2024 Democratic Primary, but that he was eventually shut down by the Democratic establishment.

This all comes not only after reports about how Democrats covered up Biden's cognitive issues but also after reports about Biden's recent prostate cancer diagnosis.

It is now clear that Democrats knew about Biden's cognitive issues for many years, and there has been a persuasive argument made by doctors that those around Biden likely knew of his prostate cancer for many years as well.

If Biden really did have all of these issues, then it raises some serious questions about his presidency, as it does not appear as though he was healthy enough to perform the presidential duties. The most obvious question is, if Biden was not leading the country, then who was?

President Donald Trump has particularly raised these questions with respect to the "autopen" situation. It has been reported that the Biden administration used autopen to sign off on things significantly more than previous administrations, and Trump seems to contend that the person using the autopen was likely the person - or one of the people - running the country.

Whatever the case may be, Phillips is now one of these Democrats who is criticizing his colleagues for not calling out Biden's health issues sooner.

"I warned you."

Phillips argued, in his piece, that the Democrats' "constant lying and gaslighting" about Biden's health issues is one of the major reasons why the Democrats have seemingly lost the trust of the American public.

He notes how he and his colleagues in Congress had a front row seat to Biden's decline, writing:

In 2021, I had a front-row seat on two occasions when he addressed the House Democratic Caucus. I also spent time in close proximity to the president during two flights on Air Force One, in 2021 and 2022, where I was alarmed to see the president’s obvious decline in communication skills, gait, and leadership capacity.

Phillips goes on to reveal how, at one point, in 2022, it became clear to him that Biden was "unfit to serve a second term," and he claimed that his "opinion wasn't an outlier," adding, "My congressional colleagues, like me, had eyes; behind closed doors we acknowledged the reality, lamented our party leadership’s inaction, and recognized the impending disaster awaiting us in November 2024."

This, he writes, is one of the reasons why he attempted to become the Democrats' 2024 presidential candidate.

Phillips goes on to further blow open the cover-up, and he encourages "everyone that was aware of Biden’s condition to come clean. No more evasions." It seems that this is what many are now trying to do, but is it too little, too late? Time will tell.
