Experts agree with Trump about the importance of Greenland

It appears that President-Elect Donald Trump was right, once again.

Experts have confirmed to Breitbart News that Greenland is an important country for the United States, strategically speaking.

This comes after recent remarks in which Trump floated the idea of the United States buying Greenway.

We will start off by looking at what Trump said, before moving on to the response from the experts.

". . . Greenland is an absolute necessity"

This all comes as Trump is about to reenter the Oval Office. In recent weeks, he has made remarks about Canada, the Panama Canal, and, now, Greenland.

The Associated Press reported on the situation.

"The president-elect is renewing unsuccessful calls he made during his first term for the U.S. to buy Greenland from Denmark, adding to the list of allied countries with which he’s picking fights even before taking office on Jan. 20," the outlet writes.

It adds, "In a Sunday announcement naming his ambassador to Denmark, Trump wrote that, 'For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity.'"

We will have to see if Trump, here, has better success than he had during his first term.

One thing, though, is certain . . .

It is that Greenland is strategically important for the United States. Dr. Walter Berbrick, the former senior adviser to the 77th Secretary of the Navy and the Special Representative for the Arctic Region at the State Department, explained why to Breitbart News.

He said:

Greenland is a linchpin for U.S. national security and the future of the free world. Its geographic position provides unparalleled strategic access to the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific Oceans — enabling the United States to monitor and deter threats against North America and NATO allies.

In the interview, Berbrick went into detail about the situation. He even suggested policy positions that, in his opinion, it would be wise for the United States to take.

This would include such things as:

Establish[ing] a formal cooperative agreement with Greenland and Denmark to address shared defense and economic priorities; Develop[ing] modernized ports, airports, and renewable energy projects in Greenland to foster sustainable growth and integration with global markets; [and more]
